I'm not going to link this stupid bitch's death with the fact that she is Western-backed, because frankly, she was not killed because she was backed by the West and so it's just obnoxious to even mention this. There are two reasons for her killing, in my opinion: further destabilise Pakistan (if it was Islamists who did the job), or to keep Musharraf in power (if it was a government-led initiative). I don't really know enough to say which way, but from my limited knowledge of Pakistan my guess would be a mixture of the two.

Either way, there is a universal lesson to be learnt here: if you're a targetted opposition leader in a country where your support base accounts for less than 10% of the population...
